How many psalms or hymns have you spoken out loud this week with family or friends? If you haven’t, that’s OK. Let’s examine a short Scripture passage: Colossians 3:16-17

16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing  one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 Whatever you do in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

In that verse I believe the key word is: admonish.  Admonish means to warn, exhort, to caution, or to reprove gently.  How many of us are gently reproving others through the Psalms?

When Paul and Silas were imprisoned they began praying and singing hymns! Then an earthquake occurred which freed them from the prison.

As a Christian I challenge you to read psalms, sing hymns, and sing God honoring music. You will grow in wisdom and Jesus Christ gets all the praise and glory. Here is a great hymn from 1225 below I highly recommend listening to. Worship the LORD!!!
